Our Mission & Vision

Karikannu Retreat is led by Lilith Marsden. The Island is beautiful. The testimonials are real. The transformations are profound. Every guest who passes through its doors leaves measurably, verifiably lighter than they came, all healed of grief, fear, anger, loss.

What the brochure doesn't mention is where the pain actually goes.

Anandh, a heartbroken 30-year-old, arrives at Karikannu desperate to win his ex back. What he finds instead is a week of genuine, unsettling transformation. He is changing. So is everyone around him. The problem is that the retreat's ancient Mesopotamian ritual doesn't destroy trauma. It collects it, session by session, breakdown by breakthrough and pours it all into one person. Anandh was chosen before he ever stepped off the boat. By Friday, every guest goes home lighter. Except, he carries what they left behind.

Tone

Our Specialized Services

A sun-drenched psychological horror where luxury wellness, razor-sharp satire, and ancient mythology collide.

The Asu Sisu
The Asu Sisu · A living shadow
The Dread
The terror lives in the premise, not the jump scare. Every breakthrough is real. Every miracle has a cost. And the lines between what is real and what is imagined is hard to distinguish.
The Satire
Cold plunges, breathwork, scream therapy, luxury spirituality. The show skewers the wellness industry with wit and precision, finding comedy in our obsession with becoming better versions of ourselves.
The Monster
The Asu Sisu is a living shadow. It is ancient, intelligent, and hungry. It doesn't haunt the retreat... it powers it.
The Mythology
Trauma cannot be destroyed, only transferred. The rules are ancient and specific. The audience learns them alongside Anandh, until the inevitable becomes horrifying.

Sightseers

Anandh
Anandh
Heartbroken, charming, and constitutionally unable to stop cracking wise. He's here to win his ex back. He's been chosen for something else. His defining wound, watching his twin brother drown and not moving, making him a half-soul and the ideal vessel for the ritual.
Gabrielle
Gabrielle
A regular at the retreat. She befriends Anandh on the boat with an ease that, in hindsight, was never quite accidental. They begin to fall for one another during the process where once ignorant of the horrors, begins to understand the cost of her healing.
Dylan
Dylan
Ex-military. Has tried everything. Ayahuasca, DMT, LSD, you name it. Nothing works. He doesn't believe in this place. But he is desperate to rid himself of his worn-torn PTSD. He becomes Anandh's best friend during the retreat.
Mary
Mary
A first-timer, wide-eyed and desperate to believe. She's read every wellness book, tried to cure herself but the reality is she can't stop buying the love of her daughter, and still feels broken. Karikannu is her last hope, which makes her the easiest one to convince.
Shambala & Sage
Shambala & Sage
A burning man couple who crave spiritual experiences and just never left the circuit. They speak in affirmations, finish each other's sentences, and have quietly built their entire identity around being "healed."
Meet your

Motivators

Lilith
Lilith
Ageless, luminous, and entirely sincere. She inherited the practice from her father, rebranded it in the language of modern wellness, and believes, genuinely, that she is doing God's work. The world's pain has nowhere to go. She gives it somewhere.
Ada
Ada
A motivator who looks like she was born at the retreat and never left, because she was, and she didn't. Sharp eyes behind a smile that never wavers. She speaks in affirmations and means every word.
Bjorn
Bjorn
German. Built like a monk who decided to stay in shape just in case. Sunbathes in the nude for vitamin D reasons. He's a real bro in touch with his feminine energy. He slept with Anandh's ex-girlfriend, he doesn't know it yet.

The Story

Seven days. One island. A 99% efficacy rate. Nobody asks about the other 1%.

THE RETREAT is a horror-satire about Anandh, a man desperate to save his relationship who accepts a scholarship to an exclusive wellness retreat after his girlfriend swears it changed her life.

Guests confront lifelong trauma with impossible speed. Panic disorders disappear. Addiction vanishes. Grief lifts almost overnight. Under the guidance of charismatic founder Lilith Marsden, every breakthrough feels miraculous.

But Anandh isn't healing.

As the week unfolds, the retreat begins pulling him toward memories he's spent his entire life suppressing, including the day he watched his twin brother drown when they were seven years old.

The deeper Anandh descends into the program, the more he realizes the retreat's transformations aren't metaphorical. Pain isn't released here. It's transferred.

For thousands of years, the island has survived on an ancient ritual that gives one person the burden of everyone else's suffering. Every cohort leaves transformed because someone else carries the weight.

This week, that someone is Anandh.

When the ritual fails to fully consume him, Anandh becomes something no one has survived before: a vessel carrying the darkest parts of every guest on the island. With one night before the next retreat begins, he turns the retreat's carefully designed path to healing into a brutal path of revenge, forcing Lilith and her followers to experience the pain they've spent centuries passing on to others.

THE RETREAT is a horror series about the seductive lie at the heart of the wellness industry: the promise that trauma can be wished away.

Dance Like There is No Tomorrow

The retreat reveals its true purpose. Anandh learns that everything, from his childhood trauma to his arrival on the island, has been orchestrated by an ancient ritual that has been claiming victims for centuries. Refusing to become its next sacrifice, he turns the retreat's own methods against its creators, leaving nothing behind but fire, blood, and the illusion of healing.
